I just finished French Alps visit and come back with serious sunburning due to sunny days in Val Thorens.

 

Val Thorens is really cool in the summer time. Sophie, Jean's daughter studies in a local kindergarten. Originally I planned to visit it with Jean, but he wanted me to go hiking and take pictures for him. Okay!

After dinner service, I went to bar to talk with the sommelier. Jean came and wanted his sommelier to bring the Chartuse bottle (local liquor). He poured one glass, and I finished it. OMG, it's so hot. (50-55% alcohol), then again!

The mushroom hunting is the my final morning activity with Jean. He is really a crazy guy. We met at 6:15 in the morning. He walked very fast in forests like a small deer.   

This summer, his dshes have a lot of changes. The presentation is not as beautiful as last summer, although the flavors are still there. I don't know what changes him this summer. I was a little disappointed with two to three cold fruit salads. The garnish on the fish course is gone. The garnish on a meat plate is very few. So the color on every plate is not that many. The cooking techniques are still beautiful. His signature dishes are still delicious.
